Career Readiness & Interview Skills for Secondary Schools
Meet Alex.
Alex has an interview tomorrow.
Alex has more experience than she realises. The question is whether she will recognise it when the opportunity comes.

Opportunity
Alex has been invited to interview.
Meet Alex
Alex has already done more than she thinks.
At 16, experience doesn't always look like a job title, a qualification or a long résumé.
Helped organise a school fundraiser.
Works a Saturday shift at a local café.
Has played team sport for six years.
Helped a younger student settle into school.
Worked through difficult group assignments.
Experienced success, setbacks and moments where she simply had to work things out.
There's already evidence here. Alex just doesn't necessarily recognise it yet.
The interviewer asks
“Tell me about a time you demonstrated leadership.”
Alex answers
“I don't really have any leadership experience.”
Here's the problem
But Alex does.
The experience is already there. The ability to recognise it and communicate it confidently may not be.
And when an opportunity arrives, students don't always get another chance to find the words.
That's where Ready to Answer™ comes in →Introducing
Ready to
Answer™
Helping students recognise what they bring — and communicate it when it matters.
Ready to Answer™ is a practical career-readiness, employability and interview-skills program for secondary school students in Years 9–12. Through interactive workshops, guided practice and purpose-built learning resources, students learn to recognise their strengths, use real examples to communicate what they can do, and prepare for employment, further study, scholarships and student leadership opportunities. The program complements school career education and student development initiatives and can be adapted to different school settings, cohorts and learning priorities.
Students may have more evidence of their capability, character and potential than they realise. They simply need to be ready to communicate it.
Recognise what they already bring.
Help students see the value in experiences gained through school, work, sport, volunteering, family responsibilities and everyday life.
Communicate with greater confidence.
Give students greater confidence when talking about themselves, their experience and the contribution they can make.
Prepare for real opportunities.
Support students as they prepare for job interviews, scholarships, leadership opportunities, further study and their transition beyond school.
Grow through every outcome.
Encourage students to reflect, learn and move forward — understanding that an interview outcome is information, not identity.
The goal isn't to turn students into rehearsed interviewees. It's to help them communicate with greater clarity, confidence and authenticity.

- Parent support resources
- School and teacher guidance
- Post-program reflection and follow-up resources
Curriculum connections & learning method
Career education students can put into practice.
Ready to Answer™ brings career readiness and employability skills to life through structured activities, practice and reflection. Students gain a practical way to explain their experience and prepare for opportunities beyond the classroom.
Supporting curriculum and career learning.
In NSW, the activities connect naturally with themes in Work Education and Stage 5–6 career learning. Across Australia, the program can complement a school's approach to career education, communication, self-awareness and critical thinking.
- Explore opportunities. Interpret role requirements, training pathways and workplace expectations.
- Recognise transferable strengths. Find evidence in school, work, sport, volunteering and everyday life.
- Communicate and reflect. Practise clear, evidence-based answers and learn from constructive feedback.
- Plan next steps. Prepare for employment, apprenticeships, further study, scholarships and leadership selection.
The TRAIL™ approach.
A structured, repeatable approach that helps students recognise what they bring and communicate it with clarity and authenticity — without relying on scripted answers.
- Clarity Help students recognise the value of their experiences.
- Confidence Build their ability to communicate strengths and contributions.
- Real-world application Practise skills that transfer to interviews and other selection opportunities.
The full method is taught through guided activities and practice, supported by the Student Workbook and quick-reference card.
Curriculum connections and activities can be considered with each school, taking account of year levels, student needs and local learning priorities.

How school pricing works
The published package fee covers up to 30 students and includes the standard printed materials for each participating student: a Student Workbook, a Parent Support Guide and an A5 quick-reference card. The per-student figures above are indicative equivalents based on a full cohort of 30, not individual booking prices.
For cohorts above 30, progressive per-student pricing allows the overall package to scale, with the potential for a lower average cost per student. Our standard cohort model accommodates up to 150 students; larger groups and additional delivery requirements can be quoted individually.
Discounts may be available for eligible multi-day bookings, depending on the number of qualifying delivery days, how cohorts are scheduled and the delivery format. Spreading one program across multiple dates does not automatically qualify for a multi-day discount. Any applicable savings will be included in your school proposal.
Published prices are indicative and may be updated before a written quote is accepted if printing, materials or freight costs change. Your final structured quote will reflect the agreed cohort, session schedule and delivery method, with any applicable freight, travel or accommodation charges itemised separately.

More than a great day. Evidence of learning.
Ready to Answer™ includes a structured evaluation framework designed to help schools understand what students learned, how their capability developed during the program, and whether they continued to use those skills afterwards.
Rather than relying only on satisfaction feedback, evaluation brings together student reflection, observable practice and feedback from school staff.
01
Before & after
Matched student evaluations help identify changes in students' ability to recognise evidence, interpret opportunities, communicate their contribution and use feedback.
02
Observed in practice
Facilitator observations capture how students apply the learning and develop their responses through practice and feedback.
03
School perspective
Teacher and school-staff feedback considers relevance, accessibility, student development and how well the program fits the school context.
04
Beyond the program
A 6–12 week follow-up explores whether students have used the learning in later opportunities and whether it has continued through conversations with parents, carers or trusted adults.
Developmental, not comparative. Evaluation is designed to understand learning and improve the program — not to rank or grade students.
A clearer picture of what students gained — not simply whether they enjoyed the program.

What Makes a School Career Readiness Workshop Effective?
Six features to look for, including participation, accessible delivery, take-home resources and evidence of learning.
Ready to Answer™ is not an adult interview program simplified for teenagers. It has been built specifically to make high-quality interview and employability learning accessible to young people without diluting it.
Built from experience
Created from the other side of the interview table.
Ready to Answer™ was created by James Green after decades of interviewing, hiring and leading people across multiple industries.
Across more than 20 years of leadership, James has seen capable people miss opportunities not because they lacked potential, but because they struggled to recognise and communicate the evidence of what they could do.
5,000+
Interviews conducted across a range of industries and roles.
1,000+
People hired throughout James' leadership career.
20+
Years of leadership experience across diverse organisations.
Why Ready to Answer
Potential isn't always the problem.
Interviewers can only respond to what a candidate is able to communicate in the room.
For young people, that creates a particular challenge. They may have already demonstrated resilience, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving and leadership — without ever thinking of those experiences in those terms.
Ready to Answer™ was created to help close that gap earlier.
The aim is not to give students polished scripts or manufactured answers. It is to help them become more confident communicating their own experience, contribution and potential when an opportunity arises.
Purposefully designed for education
Real-world experience. Curriculum-conscious design.
Ready to Answer™ brings together practical recruitment experience and purposeful educational design.
The program has been developed with consideration of relevant NSW curriculum outcomes, connecting interview preparation with communication, critical thinking, self-reflection, career development and employability capabilities.
Structured learning activities, purpose-built student resources and an evaluation framework help schools connect practical skill development with broader educational objectives.
Curriculum connections can be discussed with schools to support program planning and implementation.
